The invention relates to a distributor device (10) for feeding a rod processing machine sliver in the tobacco industry with a stream of products made of fibrous material. The stream of products on an end portion of the distributor device (10) is supplied to at least one suction conveyor (16) for forming a strip of fibrous material through a rear distributor unit (17) and at least one packing hoistway (13). The distributor device has a supply means (18) for feeding the fibrous material to the rear distributor unit (17). The distributor device is characterized in that the supply means (18) is equipped, at a downstream, with a distributor body (22) capable of swinging in a manner substantially horizontal and substantially vertical to the axis of the direction of the strip. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
