PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method for affinity chromatography (AC) in which impurity is removed without the existence of non buffered salt, product concentration in eluate is increased simultaneously, and is effective in maintaining high yield percentage of a recovered product.SOLUTION: A method for cleaning a column in which a protein A column is cleaned by cleaning solution containing arginine or arginine derivative having pH higher than 8.0. A method for performing cleaning without non buffered salt includes adding mixture containing target protein to AC matrix, cleaning AC matrix by using cleaning solution containing arginine or arginine derivative having pH higher than 8.0, and eluting target protein from the AC matrix.SELECTED DRAWING: None
