PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method of novel and improved front powder that enables the melting rate of front powder to be adjusted to a specified target melting rate at low cost.SOLUTION: To solve the above-mentioned problem, a design method of front powder containing an exothermic agent and an exothermic assistant that oxidizes the exothermic agent, provided according to a standpoint of this invention, comprises a step of specifying a range of exothermic agent/exothermic assistant ratios as a linear region when the correlation between the exothermic agent/exothermic assistant ratio and the melting rate of front powder becomes linear, a step of extracting an exothermic agent/exothermic assistant ratio corresponding to a target melting rate of front powder, as a target mass ratio, from a linear region, and a step of deciding the exothermic agent/exothermic assistant ratio of front powder as a target mass ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
