PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for a photovoltaic power generation device capable of performing more appropriate monitoring than the prior arts, and a monitoring method for the photovoltaic power generation device.SOLUTION: The monitoring system comprises: an infrared camera 1 which images a solar cell module; a moving part 2 for moving the infrared camera 1; and an image processing part 3 for processing an image captured by the infrared camera 1. The infrared camera 1 is moved by the moving part 2 to capture an image reflecting the infrared camera on a surface of the solar cell module, the infrared camera 1 is moved by using the moving part 2 in such a manner that the solar cell module can be imaged from an upper side, and an image is captured at the position of reflection where the infrared camera 1 is reflected on the surface of the solar cell module. Further, the infrared camera 1 is moved by the moving part 2 in such a manner that an imaging position becomes different from this image, thereby capturing another image which is overlapped at least partially. In the image processing part 3, processing is performed for interpolating a region in which the infrared camera 1 is reflected, while using a plurality of images captured by the infrared camera 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
