PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for preventing or ameliorating mastitis of a domestic animal, the composition having high safety without using any antibiotic, a method for preventing or ameliorating mastitis of a domestic animal by using such a composition, and a method for reducing the number of somatic cells in milk from a domestic animal by using such a composition.SOLUTION: The present invention provides: a composition for preventing or ameliorating mastitis of a domestic animal, the composition comprising angelica keiskei; a method for preventing or ameliorating mastitis of a domestic animal, the method comprising feeding a domestic animal with angelica keiskei; and a method for reducing the number of cells from a domestic animal, the method comprising feeding a domestic animal with angelica keiskei.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
