PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic agent and method for treating the mastitis of domestic animals by using glycyrrhizin which has not ever been applied to the mastitis of domestic animals and shows immunological effect on experimental animals, e.g. mouse and the like, or anti-inflammatory effect on human being. SOLUTION: This mastitis therapeutic agent for domestic animals is obtained by including glycyrrhizin or its pharmaceutically permissible salt as an active ingredient.
