PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of discriminating a fake subject of a flat surface.;SOLUTION: A subject discrimination method comprises: a process of picking up a first image in a state of lighting up illumination light at a first radiant intensity, and continuously picking up a second image in a state of lighting up illumination light at a second radiant intensity different from the first radiant intensity in S1201; a process of calculating, for each of a plurality of pixels or a plurality of partial regions of the first image, a difference between a luminance of the pixel or partial region and each pixel or partial region of the second image corresponding to the pixel or partial region of the first image in S1203; and a process of determining that a fake subject is imaged when there is one peak on a difference frequency distribution in S1205.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
