PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical line characteristic analysis device and its analysis method that can detect the amount of change in BFS (Brillouin Frequency Shift) of a measurement object optical fiber at high speed, in measurement for the temperature, static distortion, the amount of change in dynamic distortion, the vibration number of the dynamic distortion of an optical line using Brillouin scattering.SOLUTION: An optical line characteristic analysis device according to the present invention causes a set of a pump optical pulse for generating Brillouin scattering and a probe optical pulse for interacting with the pump optical pulse to propagate a measurement object optical line plural times, receives generated inductive Brillouin backward scattering light by an optical receiver, and analyzes change in a peak of Brillouin gain on the time axis of a reception signal. The present invention converts temporal change in the Brillouin gain peak into BFS change for each measurement, analyzes the BFS change as physical quantity change to be measured, and thereby enables high-speed measurement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
