PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure to the risk of a vehicle itself deviating from a white line even if a preceding vehicle is driven to stay within while lines if the vehicular width of the preceding vehicle is smaller than that of the vehicle itself, in a case where the steering of the vehicle itself is controlled with a computer so as to track the preceding vehicle by detecting the position of the preceding vehicle with a radar, laser, a camera and the like, as lateral movement amounts permissible for vehicles with a relatively large vehicular width and a relatively small vehicular width are different, the permissible amount between the left and right while lines, because the lateral movement amount permissible for the vehicle relative to the road decreases with the vehicular width.;SOLUTION: A vehicular with of a preceding vehicle is detected to enforce a selective limit to tracking-control in accordance with the vehicular width of the preceding vehicle.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
