PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production capacity estimation apparatus and a production capacity estimation method, capable of accurately estimating production capacity for mounting boards in a component mounting line.SOLUTION: A production capacity estimation apparatus for estimating production capacity for mounting boards to be produced using a component mounting line configured by connecting a plurality of component mounting related apparatuses including a component mounting apparatus performs steps of: receiving input of information on operators and information on a production plan for producing mounting boards, the production plan being scheduled in the component mounting line (ST1); and on the basis of information on the component mounting line's arrangement in a floor, information on a time required for the component mounting related apparatuses in the component mounting line producing a mounting board, information on an event requiring an operator's work for the component mounting related apparatuses in the component mounting line and the event's occurrence frequency, the input information on the operators, and the production plan, estimating production capacity of the component mounting line in the case of producing the mounting boards according to the production plan (ST2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
