PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low speed operation large-sized Diesel engine including a cylinder liner having an outlet valve and an operating method thereof.SOLUTION: A combustion space 2 is communicated in fluid and connected with an exhaust gas congregate unit 40 including exhaust gas nozzles 41 and an exhaust gas congregate pipe 4, exhaust gases 5 are generated at the time of combustion of fuel F and filling air is supplied to the discharged gas congregate pipe 4 through each of related outlet valves 3 and each of the related exhaust gas nozzles 41 from the combustion space 2 of the cylinder liner. It is possible to feed air 80 compressed by filling assemblies 71 to the cylinder liners through an exhaust gas opening part related to each of the cylinder liners. According to this invention, the exhaust gas congregate unit 40 is provided with exhaust gas probes 9 and it is possible to determine composition parameters of the exhaust gases 5 by the exhaust gas probes 9 and it is possible that a ratio of the amount of filling air in respect to fuel is set in the combustion space in dependence on the parameters.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
