PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gas diffusion layers for a battery which have regions different in characteristics from each other and whose contact with a catalyst layer is excellent.SOLUTION: A gas diffusion layer 1 for a battery, which is laminated so as to be in contact with a catalyst layer, includes: a first region 11 which is in contact with catalyst layer; and a second region 12 which is in contact with the catalyst layer and also in contact with the first region 11.
