PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium phosphorous-based vanadium composite oxide/carbon composite body, with which a high charge/discharge capacity can be obtained when the composite body is used as an active material of a positive electrode of an electrochemical device.SOLUTION: A lithium phosphorous-based vanadium composite oxide/carbon composite body is used as an active material of a positive electrode of an electrochemical device. The mass ratio of fluorine ions eluted into an eluate with respect to the lithium phosphorous-based vanadium composite oxide/carbon composite body is 500 ppm or more and 15,000 ppm or less, the eluate containing the lithium phosphorous-based vanadium composite oxide/carbon composite body dispersed in ultrapure water. The composition of lithium vanadium phosphate is represented by the following general formula (1): LiVM(POF)(-0.1≤x3, 0≤z2, 0≤a≤4)...(1) (in the formula, M represents one or more metal elements selected from the group consisting of Mn, Ni, Co, Fe, Cr, Al, Nb, Ti, Cu and Zn.).SELECTED DRAWING: None
