PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging controller capable of elongating a battery life by reducing damage to a positive and negative electrodes caused by overcharging by adjusting charging completion voltage in the case of having detected deterioration or the like on the positive electrode side or negative electrode side during charging a battery.SOLUTION: A charging controller 10 comprises: a positive electrode side voltage monitor 14 for detecting an electric potential difference between a positive electrode 21 of a battery 20 and a reference electrode 23, as a positive electrode side voltage; a negative electrode side voltage monitor 15 for detecting an electric potential difference between a negative electrode 22 of the battery 20 and the reference electrode 23, as a negative electrode side voltage; and a charging control unit 11 that, on the basis of the positive electrode side voltage detected by the positive electrode side voltage monitor and the negative electrode side voltage detected by the negative electrode side voltage monitor, determines whether or not electric potential of either or both of the positive electrode 21 and negative electrode 22 is lower than assumed electric potential and, when it has been detected that the electric potential of either or both of the positive electrode 21 and negative electrode 22 is lower than the assumed electric potential, automatically adjusts a value of a charging completion voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
