PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming aerobic granules using a semi-batch reaction vessel which can generate excellent aerobic granules even in wastewater having a high ratio of SS component in the organic substance concentration.SOLUTION: An aerobic granule forming method using a semi-batch reaction vessel 10 generates aerobic granules by repeatedly performing an inflow step of making organic substance-containing wastewater flow in, a biological treatment step of biologically treating objects to be treated in the organic substance-containing wastewater by microbial sludge, a settling step of settling the microbial sludge, and a discharge step of discharging the biologically treated water. The volume load of SS in the organic substance-containing wastewater to the semi-batch reaction vessel 10 is set to 0.6 kgSS/m/d or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
