The present invention relates to an electrode material for an electrochemical energy storage device formed from a composite material, which composite material contains at least an electrically conductive matrix and an active material. In so doing, it is provided that the electrically conductive matrix contains at least one carbon structure that is porous and mechanically flexible. Furthermore, this invention relates to the manufacturing method of an electrode material.
