PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a binder composition for a nonaqueous secondary battery electrode, which enables both of the achievement of the satisfactory easiness of filling an electrolyte in assembling a battery and the suppression of metal precipitation in charging the battery while retaining high adhesion in an electrode.SOLUTION: A method for producing a binder composition for a nonaqueous secondary battery electrode including a water-soluble polymer for a binder including a (meth)acrylic amide monomer unit comprises the steps of: (A) neutralizing an aqueous solution including the water-soluble polymer; and (B) filtering, by a filter medium, the neutralized aqueous solution including the water-soluble polymer to obtain the binder composition including the water-soluble polymer. The fraction of undissolved contents of 1 μm or larger in particle diameter to the total amount of solid contents in the binder composition for a nonaqueous secondary battery electrode is 0.0001 to 5.0 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
