The present invention relates to a novel process for producing bis [3-isopropenyl-α, α-dimethylbenzyl] carbodiimide, the bis [3-isopropenyl-α, α-dimethylbenzyl] carbodiimide thus produced. And their use as hydrolysis inhibitors in polyurethane (PU) based systems, preferably thermoplastic TPU, PU adhesives, PU casting resins, PU elastomers, or PU foams.
