Electrorheological fluids and haptic devices

An electrorheological fluid and a haptic device are provided. The invention relates to an electrorheological fluid comprising particles of at least one inorganic or organic material suspended in a polar liquid crystal medium, the use of such electrorheological fluid in a haptic device, and the haptic device itself. It relates to a method of manufacturing such a haptic device and the use of such a haptic device in an electro-optical device. [Selection figure] None
