To provide a roller having a high first yield rate, a rolling press apparatus using the roller, and a vertical roller mill apparatus.A roller includes a base body. The base 2 is installed on the ridge 4. The convex strip portion 4 is constituted by a projecting block 5 which is continuously and tightly arranged along the roller axis direction. The projecting block 5 is made of a high wear-resistant material. The structure of the roller not only enhances the primary yield rate of the roller, but also can increase the service life and abrasion resistance. The primary yield rate can be 22% to 30%, the service life can reach 15000 to 20000 hours, and the wear loss amount when used for 2100 hours is 2.5 mm.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
