PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grain quality discrimination device capable of discriminating colored grain or the like, on the basis of a light receiving signal that is received, by a sensor, from a side surface side of a grain.SOLUTION: In the grain quality discrimination device of the present invention, an optical unit includes: two light sources, a first light source and a second light source which alternately repeat turn on and turn off, namely the first light source for radiating light from one surface side of a grain and the second light source for radiating light from the other surface side of the grain; and sensors which respectively include a first light-receiving unit and a second light receiving unit. The first light-receiving unit sets an exposure time in response to the switching timing between the turn on and turn off of each light source, and receives the reflected light from the one surface side of the grain in turning on the first light source, and receives the transmitted light from the one surface side of the grain in turning on the second light source. The second light-receiving unit sets an exposure time in response to the timing of turning on each light source a predetermined times, each of which corresponds to a pair of continuous and alternate turnings on each light source, and continuously receives the reflected light and transmitted light from the side-surface side of the grain in turning on of the first light source and turning on of the second light source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
