The present invention provides a scribing wheel having an attached groove which is most suitable for splitting a brittle material substrate and has high permeability, and a scribing device using the scribing wheel, a scribing method, a manufacturing method of a panel used for display, and a panel used for display. The groove (44) of the scribing wheel (40) is characterized in that the ratio between the width L of the groove (44) and the depth H of the groove (44) is within the range from 2.0 to 3.2. Therefore, the scribing wheel (40) and the scribing device (10) also can form a crack with high permeability on the brittle material substrate (17) even with a small cutting load.
