PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for safety management in repair work for a movable weir that allow workers to perform repair work safely when repairing a movable weir.SOLUTION: A safety management system 10 is used in a repair work for a movable weir 1 that contains a weir column 3 and an existing gate 2 installed to form a bridge between the weir columns 3, for safety management in the repair work for the movable weir 1 performed in a work space S for the repair work formed by removing river water in an area surrounded by the two weir columns 3 and water cut-off structures 7 and 8. The safety management system 10 warns workers on an unsafe condition by notifying the workers about water pressure gauges 11a and 11b that measure the groundwater pressure below the work space S and that the water pressure values measured by the water pressure gauges 11a and 11b exceeded the standard value, or by having the groundwater pour out of an observation well 13 installed in the work space S.
