PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physical property measuring device and a measuring method capable of reproducing a desired dynamic state of a long object and accurately measuring its bending rigidity at a pure bending state.SOLUTION: A physical property measuring device comprises: a rotate stage 10 for fixing a long object 3 at a first fixed position and allowing the object 3 to be rotated by a rotary actuator 12; a translation stage 20 for fixing the object 3 at a second fixed position spaced apart from the first fixed position and allowing the object 3 to be moved by an x-axis actuator 24 and a y-axis actuator 25; rotational angle detecting means for detecting a rotational angle of the object 3 at the first fixed position; and six component force transducers 14, 26 for detecting respective translational forces and bending moments exerted on the object 3 at the first fixed position and the second fixed position.
