PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclic olefin resin composition showing no degradation in transparency and heat resistance of a cyclic olefin resin, and an optical material and an optical component using the composition.SOLUTION: An antifogging agent for a cyclic olefin resin is provided, which is incorporated into a cyclic olefin resin composition containing a cyclic olefin resin, and maintains transparency of a molded article obtained from the cyclic olefin resin composition. The antifogging agent for a cyclic olefin resin comprises a pentavalent phosphorus compound; and the pentavalent phosphorus compound includes one phosphorus atom in one molecule.
