PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond composite including single crystal diamond suitable for a diamond product.SOLUTION: A diamond composite includes a substrate comprising a diamond seed crystal, single crystal diamond formed on the principal surface of the substrate, and a carbonaceous layer for coating the side face of the single crystal diamond. The carbonaceous layer contains non-diamond carbon.
