Engine torque assisting device and torque assisting method using ISG

An objective of this disclosure is to determine an engine torque using an integrated starter generator (ISG) so as to implement enhanced fuel economy. An embodiment of this disclosure provides an engine torque assist device which assists the torque of an engine by an ISG. The engine torque assist device according to the embodiment includes: a means which has an ISG control unit and calculates the amount of change in accelerator pedal opening on the basis of a signal indicative of an accelerator pedal opening from an accelerator pedal opening sensor; and a means for calculating the amount of change in driver's request torque on the basis of a signal indicative of a driver's request torque from an engine control unit. The ISG control unit is adapted to produce ISG assisted torque using the ISG when either one of the following conditions is satisfied: (i) threshold value (1) amount of change in accelerator pedal opening, or (ii) threshold value (2) amount of change in driver's request torque and threshold value (3) driver's request torque.
