An object of the present invention is to provide a monoclonal antibody useful for specifically measuring tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b. By cell fusion using human recombinant tartrate resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP-5b) purified from silkworm silk gland as an antigen, the reactivity to TRACP-5b is more than the reactivity to tartrate resistant acid phosphatase 5a (TRACP-5a). A hybridoma producing a monoclonal antibody against TRACP-5b with high specificity. By using this monoclonal antibody, TRACP-5b in a specimen can be detected with high sensitivity and specificity.
