The machine (1) has a milling roller housing (10) arranged at a machine frame (8) between front and rear chassis axles. A hydraulic or electric milling roller drive unit integrated in a single milling roller (12), and a conveyor belt (18) cooperates with the housing to remove a milling product milled off by the roller in a forward direction. The roller, the housing and the drive unit are supported transversely to a travel direction (31) at the frame, where a zero side is optionally defined on a lateral outer side (26) or another lateral outer side (28) of the frame.
