The invention relates to the field of therapeutics for hemostatic disorders, such as hemophilia. In particular, disclosed are a method for preventing or treating bleeding episodes in a subject being a human suffering from hemophilia A, the method comprising administering to said subject multiple doses of a long-acting Factor VIII (FVIII) polypeptide at a dosing interval of 3 to 7 days between administering two doses of the long-acting Factor VIII polypeptide, wherein said therapeutic dose is about 25-100 IU/kg, wherein the long-acting Factor VIII polypeptide comprises a chimeric polypeptide comprising the FVIII polypeptide and a Fc portion, and also specific embodiments of said method.
