An outdoor information board system and a method of erecting such a system. The board system comprises a self-supporting plate (1) made of weatherproof material and two columns made of weatherproof material arranged at a distance from one another, the plate (1) being fixed to the posts by the fastening means (3, 4) connected to the inside of the plate on either side of the short side or adjacent to it, so that the plate is supported by the posts. According to the invention, the sheet has a bearing layer (6, 8) made of metal, and the outer surface of the plate is covered with a layer of non-material material (9) on which the information is introduced, each column having a longitudinal column, the groove and grooves facing the plate are shaped so that they are able to receive the slider (4) of the fastening member and allow the slide to move in the groove, whereby the position of the slider (4) in the groove can be secured by the stop members. The information board system as a whole has good strength properties and can be assembled without metal working during installation.
