SMART TOOL FOR PERCUSIVE CARVING

There is disclosed a smart percussive carving tool able to treat lumpy materials such as marble, either with hands or with an integral percussive hammer (Cuturi hammer) or with a digitally-guided machine; furthermore, said carving tool is destined to measure and register the technological parameters describing and checking the treatment in question via sensors and electronic arrangements incorporated to the tool. The technological parameters registered in real time by the invented smart tool are, indicatively, the following: percussive loads, accelerations, orientation, temperature and other derivative parameters such as mechanical stress, speed, accelerations etc. The invented smart tool provides information on the technological parameters, which information will be treated and analyzed with a suitable algorithm with the aim to produce anticipatory arithmetic models of the percussive carving treatment and the sculpting of lumpy materials. The invented tool is composed of the basic body 33 bearing the electronic arrangement 36 destined for control, registration and transmission purposes, the sensor 35 for the measurement of the parameters and the replaceable changing carving chisels (39,40,41).
