摘要

The present invention relates to gelatin based solutions, gels, micro and nano-particles which on exposure to an alternating radiofrequcncy current produces heat or a hyperthermia response. These materials can be used for thermally ablating diseased cells and tissues on exposure to radio-frequency waves, invasively or non-invasively. This material may also act as a carrier for other agents used to cmbolizc feeding blood vessels, for local delivery of therapeutic agents and simultaneously produce thermal ablation together with chemotherapy of malignant as well as benign lesions in the body. In a particular aspect, this invention relates to gelatin based solutions or formulations preferably carrying ionic elements and/or chemotherapeutic agents like doxorubicin.
