This invention relates to a strain based automated system for sensing and monitoring progress in real time the state of launching girder and thereof a viaduct construction of a segmental structure with plurality of spans, which via-construction process involves repetitive launching girder cycles, each cycle of launching girder involving a set of sequential operations occurring for each span, including auto-launching operation, segment lifting operation, post-tensioning operation and span loading operation and the said system uses a set of sensor means, memory means along with a wireless communication means and a controller means correspondingly sensing and generating a measurement data and storing the measurement data, the sensors generating measurement data corresponding to each of the said four operation of a launching girder cycle, which are stored in memory means and transmitted through the wireless communication means. The controller means is capable of analyzing, evaluating and forming historical data of launching girder and each span.
