摘要

The present disclosure relates to a battery assisted passive UHF processor based smart card comprising a tag logic and smart card interface to operate in RFID and smart card modes respectively. The smart card comprises a power management module (PMM) with a switchable battery. The tag logic receives command signals from a card reader, determines smart card mode operation, enables switching of the battery to ON state and selectively couples the smart card interface with the card reader. Upon completion of the smart card operations, the processor disables the PMM and enables coupling of the tag logic with the card reader to continue operation in RFID mode. The present disclosure thus enables effective power management by selectively enabling or disabling the battery, hence supporting high secure transactions that may require more power. Furthermore, the disclosure enables cost-effective, less complex, secure smart card solution meeting security and optimal read range requirements.
