摘要

The cylindrical hydraulic accumulator contains hydraulic oil on side and nitrogen on the other side of the piston , the operation of the piston is regulated to enable supply of hydraulic oil under pressure of about 3.5 atm for functioning of various hydraulic aggregates of the aircraft control system. On a large number of accumulators there were frequent cases of nitrogen / hydraulic oil leakages in cylindrical hydraulic accumulator due to spiraling and breakage of O-rings . The failed seals are dynamic in nature. In order to overcome this problem, the existing O-rings of (2 each on piston a & b) with PTFE back-up rings are replaced by AGT T seal assembly containing back-up rings & PTFE spacer ring. This has resulted in total reduction of spiraling and breakages of O-rings during the operation of the pistons and thus eliminated the leakage of nitrogen /hydraulic oil from the cylindrical hydraulic accumulator.
