The present subject matter relates to manual precision scanning of the motion stage in 1-DOF (Degree of Freedom), 2-DOF or Multi- DOF mechanism in which motion of motion stage is manually controlled along with motion amplification and de-amplification features that is achieved using LH & RH lead screw, tapered nuts, roller trolley, motion stage and spring (which maintains continuous contact between roller trolley and motion stage to avoid backlash during motion) arrangement, in which rotatory motion of lead screw is converted to axial motion of tapered nuts, tapered nuts transmit motion to roller trolley in perpendicular direction and further to the motion stage which is held at its position by tension spring; angle of tapered nuts decides amplification and de-amplification of input motion imparted to lead screw, amplification is achieved by providing tapered angle of tapered nut more than 450 and vice versa.
