Synthesis route for the preparation of recyclable ruthenium(II) carbonyl schiffbase catalysts with triphenyl phosphine/arsine The present invention discloses the synthesis route for producing the novel class of ruthenium(II) carbonyl schiff base catalysts with PPh3/AsPh3 of formula 1 [Ru (Cl) (CO) (L) (A)2] wherein L denote 2-[4-N-N-DMAPI-methyl]-4x phenol; wherein DMAPI denote di methyl amino phenyl imino; x denotes Cl/Br/I and a denotes triphenyl phosphine (PPh3) or triphenyl arsine (AsPh3). This invention also directs the process of carrying out the catalytic reduction of aliphatic and aromatic ketones to their alcohols through transfer hydrogenation. Also the catalysts were performed efficiently for the catalytic transfer hydrogenation reaction. The yield obtained is greater than the previously reported. The superiority of the catalysts are simple, easy to process, lesser reaction time, economic, stable, recyclable and ecofriendly.
