Rhizopus strain Saccharomyces strain starter for fermenting rice containing the strains above and the method for producing the starter for fermenting rice are provided. Rhizopus oryzae strains CCTCC No: M209191 and CCTCC No:M209232 Saccharomyces cerevisae stains CCTCC No: M209190 and CCTCC No:M209231 and rice starter for fermenting rice containing the strains above are provided. A method for producing rice starter for fermenting rice comprises: inoculating a Rhizopus strain and Saccharomyces strain into medium and mixed culturing them to obtain mixed culture starter for fermenting rice; inoculating the said Rhizopus strain into the same kind of medium and culturing it to obtain pure starter for fermenting rice; and blending the pure starter for fermenting rice and the mixed culture starter for fermenting rice in some ratio to obtain rice starter for fermenting rice. The present Rhizopus strains and the said Saccharomyces strains in mixed cultured have good adaptability.
