Computer system, program and method for simulating fluvial channels

The method involves interpreting characteristic data of a final channel (50) and a modelized initial channel (60), where the initial and final channels are potential oil reservoirs. Points (71-74, 81-84) coming from the final channel to the initial channel, are determined on trajectories, from the interpreted characteristic data, where the trajectories depend on a distance between a characteristic point (52) of axis of the final channel and a characteristic point (53) of axis of the initial channel. An intermediate channel that passes via the points, is simulated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product comprising subprograms to perform a method of simulating a turbiditic channel (2) a computing system comprising a memory with a program for performing a method of simulating a turbiditic channel.
