A monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof, which recognizes the full-length human LIF, but does not recognize a fragment of LIF corresponding to amino acids 1 to 160, where the antibody is produced by the hybridoma cell line DSM ACC3054, deposited on 1 April 2010 by the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology at the Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH.
