A drug delivery composition comprising at least one fiber, wherein said fiber comprises a first integrating layer and a second integrating layer, and wherein said first integrating layer is a biodegradable polymer and said second integrating layer is selected from the group consisting in a gel or a hydrogel, where the first integrating layer is present in the outer wall of the fiber and the second integrating layer is present in the soul of the fiber, and in which a therapeutic agent is loaded in the gel or the hydrogel, and where the concentration of the gel or hydrogel varies as a function of the distance along the long axis of the fiber.
