Polymeric compositions of ethylene-vinyl ester copolymers and (meth) alkyl acrylate, process for its preparation and use as pour point depressant depressant for crude oils, mineral oils or mineral oil products
Polymeric compositions of ethylene-vinyl ester copolymers and (meth) alkyl acrylate, process for its preparation and use as pour point depressant depressant for crude oils, mineral oils or mineral oil products
Polymeric composition that can be obtained by free radical polymerization of monoethylenically unsaturated monomers (A) in the presence of at least one copolymer (B) of ethylene-vinyl esters, in which - the monomers (A) comprise at least 70% in weight of (meth) alkyl acrylates (A1) with respect to the amount of all monomers (A) - the copolymers (B) of ethylene-vinyl esters comprise from 55 to 85% by weight of ethylene as well as from 15 to 45 % by weight of vinyl esters of the general formula H2C = CH-O- (O) C-R1 (III), in which R1 represents H or a hydrocarbon residue of C1- to C4, and - the amount of the monomers (A) is 70 to 90% by weight and that of the copolymers (B) of ethylene-vinyl esters is 10 to 30% by weight with respect to the sum of the monomers (A) and the copolymers ( B) ethylene-vinyl esters together, characterized in that the alkyl (meth) acrylates (A1) are a mixture of (A1a) of 50 to 99 mol% of a 1 minus one (meth) alkyl (ac) acrylate of the general formula H2C = C (R2) -COOR3, in which R2 represents H or a methyl group and R3 represents a linear alkyl with 18 to 24 carbon atoms, and (A1b) from 1 to 49 molar% of at least one (meth) alkyl acrylate (A1b) of the general formula H2C = C (R2) -COOR4, in which R2 has the meaning already defined and R4 represents a hydrocarbon residue selected from the group of residues R4a, R4b and R4c and the residues are defined as follows: R4a: linear alkyl residues with 1 to 11 carbon atoms, R4b: branched alkyl residues with 4 to 60 carbon atoms, and R4c: cyclic alkyl residues with 5 to 20 carbon atoms, with the proviso that the sum of the amounts of (A1 a) and (A1 b) results in 100% molar.
