The invention relates to a method to increase growth or differentiation invitro in a cell or tissue culture comprisingculturing said cell(s) or tissue and applying pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) tosaid cell or tissue. In said method the cells or tissueare derived from a plant or an animal (including human) and preferably thecells are undifferentiated cells. Also part of the inventionis a method as described herein wherein the cells or tissue are derived from aplant and in which differentiation implies theoutgrowth of roots and/or shoots or of somatic embryos. The invention furthercomprises the use of PRF for increasing the growthor differentiation in in vitro cell or tissue culture. The invention alsocomprises a cell or tissue culture treated according to amethod according to the invention. Preferably such a cell or tissue culture isderived from a plant. Then, in yet another embodiment,the invention is directed to a plant grown from such a cell or tissue culture.Alternatively, the invention comprises a cell culturethat is treated according a method of the invention wherein the cells arederived from an animal, preferably a human.
