PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING EZETIMIBE AND SIMVASTATIN

The present invention belongs to the field of pharmaceutical industry andrelates to a process for preparing dosageforms containing simvastatin and ezetimibe, comprising the steps of providinga first composition containing simvastatin, providinga second composition containing ezetimibe, and forming a dosage formcomprising at least two separate compartments, whereinone compartment is formed using either the first or the second composition andanother compartment is formed using the othercomposition. The present invention also relates to a process for preparingdosage forms containing simvastatin and ezetimibe,wherein the process involves a direct compression step. Furthermore, thepresent invention belongs to a dosage form obtained bythis process, comprising at least two separate compartments, wherein onecompartment contains simvastatin and one compartmentcontains ezetimibe. Finally, the present invention relates to a combinationdosage form comprising a combination of simvastatinand ezetimibe present in two separate compartments of the dosage form.
