The invention relates to a system for providing services, comprising a plurality of modular robots capable of moving in an autonomous manner and performing services according to received tasks (48). Said system comprises at least one moving base (16) capable of moving in an autonomous manner and at least one service module (18). Each moving base (16) comprises a base interface and each service module (18) comprises a module interface (94) capable of interacting with the base interface in order to connect/disconnect the service module to the moving base, a modular robot (14) being formed by connecting a service module (18) to a moving base (16). The system comprises at least one fixed fallback base (20) able to receive the modular robot (14), comprising at least one unit which is a storage (22), energy recharging (26) or refuelling (24) unit.
