A lithium ion battery having a high-rate charge-discharge performance. High-rate lithium cobalt oxide is used as a cathode, high-rate intermediate carbon microspheres are used as an anode, and graphene is used as a conductive additive. The present invention adopts a cathode and anode material system having a high-rate performance, controls the areal density and compaction density of a cathode pole piece and an anode pole piece, guarantees the high conductivity of the pole pieces, and improves the large current charge-discharge performance of the battery. Graphene having a high conductivity performance is used as a conductive agent additive, thereby avoiding the defect of reduction of an active material proportion of a cathode to an anode due to the fact that a large amount of conventional conductive agents need to be added when used, and improving the volume energy density of the battery. An electrolyte containing a PC solvent is used, and the high freezing point and high conductivity of the PC solvent are utilized, such that the problem about battery heat dissipation under the large current charge-discharge conditions is effectively alleviated, and the cycle stability of the battery is further guaranteed. The present invention is simple in process, and the manufactured lithium batteries are excellent in performance.
