The present invention belongs to the field of eye-related diseases and its analysis and/or diagnosis. The present invention thus provides a method for analyzing and/or diagnosing such diseases comprising the step of determining the amount of specific marker polypeptides. The present invention further refers to the use of said polypeptides for analyzing, diagnosing, and/or treating eye-related diseases, to the use of a kit for this purpose, as well as to a DNA chip for this purpose comprising the polypeptide markers. Finally, the present invention refers to an in vitro method for identifying a test compound that is capable of increasing or decreasing the amount of the specific marker polypeptides.
