Provided are a method and remote controller for matching a household electrical-appliance remote controller according to an iris, belonging to the field of home appliances; the method comprises: recording one or more iris information, a controller code corresponding to each iris, and a matching relationship between each iris and the controller code (S101); reading iris information inputted by a user (S102); if the iris information inputted by the user is the iris matching the controller code, then according to the iris information inputted by the user, retrieving the controller code matching the iris inputted by the user (S103). In the method and remote controller, it is possible to match the iris with the controller code, such that the user is able to quickly switch among operation of different household electrical appliances.
