The invention relates to a biogas plant having an electrolysis system, e.g., an electrolyser (1) having an anode (A), a cathode (K), and a membrane (M) for separating the anolyte and catholyte circuit (AK, KK). The waste gas carbon dioxide (CO₂) arising during the biogas production is further reclaimed in order to avoid emission into the atmosphere. Using the electrolyser (1) and, for example, a connected reactor (2), the carbon dioxide (CO₂) is further processed to form essential important substances for the fuel gas production, which are then added to the biogas and increase its calorific value significantly.
